Anita Mui plays the Emperor Qi, a lecherous, cowardly fool who marries the infallibly virtuous Wu Yen (Sammi Cheng). Things get complicated when a mischievous, but rather benign fox enchantress (Cecilia Cheung) also falls in love with Wu Yen. Soon, the fox enchantress puts a love spell on Wu Yen, causing a big red mole to appear on her face. She (the fox's gender is never actually defined) also turns herself into Yin Chun to seduce Emperor Qi into marriage, hoping he will forget Wu Yen. And that's just the beginning!
