The members of Emergency Room 24 must deal with chronic lack of manpower, lack of beds, & lack of doctors. Hospitals now often refuse to accept patients leaving ambulances to search for the next hospital in the vicinity. In the fourth season, a bride collapses during her wedding and is whisked away by paramedics. The ambulance then have trouble finding a hospital willing to accept the patient. The condition of the bride worsens, while the groom becomes combative to the paramedic team.
