At first glance, the title, "God! Please give me more time!" seems to be somehow connected to the Jordan Chan film "God! Please save me!" though the similarity between the two is probably confined to a plea for divine intervention. While "God! Please Save Me" is a story about the desperation of love, "God! Please Give Me More Time" as it's title suggests, about desperation for longevity. $$ID=Takeshi Kaneshiro$$ stars as a musician in love with one of his fans, played by $$ID=Fukata Kyoko$$. As this ultimate fantasy unfolds, the characters are struck by tragedy as the girlfriend discovers herself to be stricken by AIDS. The desperate lovers call upon God to give them more time together. Kaneshiro looks, as always, great. The series, which gives him an opportunity to act as a Japanese, is undoubtedly a vehicle to expand his appeal in his homeland. While the story might seem a little cliched and improbable, it will definitely appeal to those who are able overlook the implausibility of the relationship to savour the romanticiscm. |
