An impotent overseas uncle from the US (Lok Kung) returns to claim a son to raise as own per old village custom. Since his nephew, Tak-Sun (Cheung Ying Tsoi), and wife, Chi Sum (Nam Hung), only has one son, the uncle proposes getting him a concubine to bear another son for him. Of course, Tak Sunˇ¦s wife is not too happy at that prospect. The proposed concubine, Yip, already has a fiance (Cheung Ching), though he is too poor for Yipˇ¦s mother to agree to their marriage. Chi Sumˇ¦s friends devise a plot to fool the uncle. The ploy becomes more and more complicated as pregnancies and false pregnacies pile upon each other until the eventual final happy ending. |
