Tokyo is under decastationg attack! The immense and ominous Black Ox, the dark robot with the devil eyes and detachable, destructive limbs, is set on leveling the city.

Can any force in Japan stop this madness? There is one possible savior - the heroic giant robot, Tetsujin-28. The problem is, Tetsujin-28 has been rusting away in a secret, underground storage facility ever since the disappearance of the man who originally invented the robot at the twilight of World War II, in a failed, last-minute attempt to turn back the Allied victory.

Now, The inventor;s father must bring his grandson, Shotaro Kaneda, to the hidden base, and bring him face to face with his destiny. The Sky, nervous and emotionally distraught Shotaro faints from fear when his grandfather hands him a remote control device and tells him he is to be the pilot of the fearsome metal monster. Will Shotaro be defeated? Is there any hope at all for Japan?
