It is an extremely well made, stylish, yet action-packed entertainment that appeals to the widest spectrum of audience. Jeffery (Chow yun-fat)is a hired killer who wants to go straight, but accidentally blinds a singer Jenny (Sally Yeh) during his last job. Feeling gritty, he wants to finance her eye operation, and decides to go back to being a hit man. Through an agent Sydney (Chu Kong), he picks up a contract to kill Tong Weng, head of a drug syndicate. The killing takes place during the Dragon Boat Festival, and arouses the attention of two cops, Lee (Danny Lee) and Randy (Kenneth Tsang). Lee discovers the relationship between Jeffrey and Jenny, and gradually senses that Jeffrey is not al that cold-blooded.... The brothers are in conflicting roles, the outlaw and cop. Sung Tse-kit (Leslie Cheung), a deicated policeman blamed Tse-ho (Ti Lung) for father's death as much as obstructing his career in the police force. Flamboyant Tse-ho and Mark (Chow Yuen Fat)are betrayed by their jealous subordinate Tam Shing (Lee Tse Hung) into he countereit syndicate. Gun wounded Tse-ho gives himself up in order to let Tam Shing escape. After serving his jail term. repentant Tse-ho returns to Hong Kong to lead a new life and finds out Mark was cripped in the massacre for his vengeance. But crooked Tam Shing as a rising lieutenant in the syndicate would not take chances. He wastes no time to plot against Tse-ho and Mark.... |
