Browsing for Movies

In the mood for a movie but don't exactly know what you are after? Check out our Movie Store by clicking on the animated Movies signboard at the homepage. Once inside, browse through the different categories on the vertical navigation bar along the left to see what our editors and product specialists have selected for you. Within each movie category or genre, you may also browse through the available movies by title, using the alphabetical navigation bar at the top of each page.

You may also see what's popular with our valued customers by browsing the Top Sellers section along the top navigation bar. Don't forget to check out the New and Future Releases section for the latest releases and reissues.

Product Format and Technical Information

Our movie items are in DVD and VCD (Video CD) formats.

DVD

The majority of our DVDs are All Region encoded discs. They will play on DVD players from all regions. A small minority of our DVDs are Region 3. These are only playable on Region 3 or Region free DVD players. The encoding information is always indicated under "Technical Specifications". Other information included in this section, are audio specifications, aspect ratio (16:9 for widescreen or letterbox and/or 4:3 for standard square TV reformats), and discographic information where available.

Additional title-specific information can be found under "Product Details". Typical information includes language tracks, subtitles, running time, distributor, Theatrical or DVD release date where available.

Other pertinent information is the shipping origin. Sensasian.com operates shipping centers in Hong Kong and Malaysia. The "Shipping Origin" field indicates which center the item you have selected will be shipped from and hence its country version. Do not be thoroughly alarmed by this. Generally, Hong Kong versions are the most complete versions available. The majority of Malaysian versions are identical to their Hong Kong counterparts except for their packaging and instances of overtly violent and/or sexually explicit content being edited due to censorship regulations. In these cases, the Malaysian versions may be more suitable for less mature audiences. However, in instances too varied to mention - the true aficionados know this - the Malaysian versions may be longer and contain uncut material that the Hong Kong versions do not have. Titles that are out of print in Hong Kong may be available in Malaysia and vice versa. Also, to combat piracy, Malaysian versions of new major video releases, tend to be ahead of Hong Kong. Again this inconsistency is a fact of Asian video distribution and we will do our best to help you pick the version most suitable for you if you contact us at service@sensasian.com

You should also take note of the "Shipping Origin" field in case returns or replacements are required. Please refer to the "Refund and Return Policy" section for more on this.

DVD and VCD

These formats generally fall under MTV/Karaoke/Concerts and occasionally Game Music and Classical/Instrumental/Opera. They are music video clip collections and/or concert performance renditions of certain recordings.

Information such as the language, number of discs, release date, label and UPC appear below the image of the cover.

Other pertinent information is the shipping origin. Sensasian.com operates shipping centers in Hong Kong and Malaysia. Generally, Hong Kong versions are released earlier and have a greater variety of packaging throughout the item's release life. The majority of Malaysian versions are identical to their Hong Kong counterparts except for their packaging in some instances. Malaysian versions also tend to be less costly. Many Taiwanese recordings are released in Malaysia prior to Hong Kong. There are also Malaysian editions available only in Malaysia. DVD Terminology

Anamorphic DVDs are mastered to allow for vertical manipulation of resolution lines. The result is enhanced resolution of up to 480 lines on a TV with a 16:9 aspect ratio rendering finer detail. They are intended for enhanced widescreen TVs with aspect ratios of 16:9, but can nonetheless be played on regular TVs.

DTS stands for Digital Theater Sound. To fully experience DTS-encoded discs, a 5.1 audio system must be employed. Nonetheless, DTS-encoded DVDs are playable on other non-DTS DVD players, with the 2-channel Dolby 2.0 sound option selected on your receiver.

Dual-layer discs have two layers of data, both readable from the same side. Hence, they can store twice the data of single-layer discs ie. over 4 hours of video. Longer movies or those where different editions of a film are presented ie. the theatrical release and the director's cut on the same disc, usually utilize dual layer discs. They can be read by all DVD players

VCDs

VCD (Video Compact Disc) is generally a more popular video format in Asia and less so in Europe and North America.

The price is more affordable compared to DVD or LD and is easily storable compared to VHS tapes. Although the image and sound quality of VCD cannot match that of DVD/LD, you do not have to invest in the hardware as recommended for DVD/LD (such as big screen TV and surround sound system) to enjoy VCD.

Many Asian movie titles do not make it to DVD releases. Hence, VCDs are an alternative way of enjoying movies you might otherwise be unable to find.

Title-specific information can be found under "Product Details". Typical information includes language tracks, subtitles and distributor where available.
